Statistical language models with structural elements
نویسنده
چکیده
Statistical n-gram language models, which can be seen as a variant of finite state grammars with transition probabilities written on the arcs of the graph, have been applied successfully in speech technology. We will present the new theoretical concept of structural elements and outline an automatic method to improve n-gram language models by distributing those structural elements in word sequences. In our model, n-grams that have not occurred in the training will be interpolated by ngrams containing structural elements. We give a detailed description of the algorithm and present first results of a system trained on a small corpus which consists of spontaneous speech dialogues.

The musical language Elements of Persian musical language: modes, rhythm and syntax
In treating the subject of musical language, a Persian musician would be intrinsically drawn to the structural similarities between the Persian music and language. Indeed Persian music and language are extremely related in their metrics, intonations and structural phrases (syntax). Although we will draw upon this relationship, our aim in this article is to present “music as a language,” c...
متن کاملPlacing structuring elements in a word sequence for generating new statistical language models
Class based n-gram language models have been applied successfully in speech technology. We will present an automatic method to improve n-gram language models by distributing structural elements in a new way in word sequences. Our algorithm works on textual data consisting of two different kinds of text elements, namely words and structural elements. The order of words will not be changed during...
متن کاملTarget detection Bridge Modelling using Point Cloud Segmentation Obtained from Photogrameric UAV
In recent years, great efforts have been made to generate 3D models of urban structures in photogrammetry and remote sensing. 3D reconstruction of the bridge, as one of the most important urban structures in transportation systems, has been neglected because of its geometric and structural complexity. Due to the UAV technology development in spatial data acquisition, in this study, the point cl...
متن کاملA Computational Model of Jazz Improvisation Inspired by Language
This paper presents a novel computational model of jazz improvisation based on n-gram language models. Recent functional neuroimaging studies suggest that the brain processes structural elements of improvised music and conversational language in a similar manner. We hypothesized that if musical improvisation and language share a common cognitive and neurological foundation, then statistical tec...
متن کاملNumerical solution of base shear in high tensioned cable antenna
A finite element solution based on equevalent elements is proposed for the static and dynamic analysis of tallhigh tensioned cable antennas. To reduce high number of degrees of freedom in space frame body of a structure, a simple equivalent beam element is defined for each simulative substructure. This numerical procedure is applicable to analyze complex three dimensional assemblies of substruc...
